Everything we see or touch is either energy slowed down in the form of matter or energy not slowed down in one of many many different forms that energy can take.
We know energy can not be created or destroyed and only transferred from one state to another. So all energy that exists must be eternal. The cosmic speck of dust we call our known universe is almost certainly one of an infinite number of independent and separate universes that inhabit the vast infinite cosmos that extends infinitely in all directions. Not alternate realities. There is one reality. Alternate pockets of spacetime massenergy just like our known universe. So this energy that makes everything up is not only eternal but infinite. An infinite amount of eternal energy that was never created and will exist forever. If you have faith in a creator then a very minor shift in faith could help you resolve the chicken and egg paradox you self impose on yourself by requiring the infinite eternal energy all around us to have a creator. Accept it on faith as eternal and not created as you would otherwise reserve for your creator and you can resolve the problems in your head trying to reconcile your faith and your belief in science because in the end it all boils down to getting the strength to face each day from the convictions we have in our faith. Mine tells me an infinite Universe that has always existed means there has always been and will always be an infinite number of planets with life on them. But there is only a finite number of different ways that life can form and evolve. A finite combination of DNA or RNA and finite combination of pairs that produce offspring. When you take a finite combination of a sequence of events regardless of how large it is and repeat it an infinite number of times then each stage is repeated an infinite number of times. So besides the fact that the energy that makes up every atom and cell in your body is eternal , there has never Ever been a moment in time and never Ever will there be a moment in time where your exact DNA would not concurrently exist on an infinite number of separate and independent planets. We are each eternal but we only get this one ride per vessel so make the most of it while you can. And if we can all find some way to leave the world a better place than how we found it imagine how much better all of our subsequent rides could become.
