ANCESTORS

About 400,000,000 years ago a common ancestor of every one of us breathed its first breath.

About 40,000,000 years ago a common ancestor of every one of us learned to adapt to survive.

About 4,000,000 years ago a common ancestor of every one of us adapted to prefer being predator over prey.

About 400,000 years ago our ancestors shared this planet with other humanoid bipeds, (between 6 and 8 other humanoid species) and humans are the result of the species that best adapted.

About 40,000 years ago our ancestors shared this planet with one or two other humanoid bipeds but again we adapted better and thus survived to become the dominant species. There may have been tens of thousands of tribes across the globe but still looked very similar without huge distinctions in skin color or facial features or body hair. They may have shared different religions as the folklore handed down for generations would have all evolved independently but with minor variations we basically would have looked fairly similar.

About 4,000 years ago our ancestors were not only separating each other by skin color and appearance but nationalism evolved as countries formed and religions further segmented us as we learned to transcribe the folklore handed down for generations on to printed materials and try to spread it.

About 400 years ago many of the countries that create a false division amongst us today did not even exist yet.

About 40 years ago many of our ancestors continued to fight oppression and our grandparents and parents could tell us stories about the horrors of war or the tragedy of famine. In this day and age to still hear of war and famine and pestilence defies logic.

About 4 years ago many of us may have looked at the world a bit differently than what the last four years has shown us. Should we use this time to pause and reflect on how long we were all the same before we first began seeming different.

About time to maybe think for a second how we let things like religion, or nationalism, or race or skin color, or gender divide us when we really only started being different from each other about .0001 percent of our evolutionary chain ago? When we really contemplate that we have only been different from each other for the last .0001 percent of our existence how can we honestly allow any form of bigotry or prejudice to get passed down to the next generation?

Let each follow whatever faith brings them the strength to face each day so long as their pursuit of their convictions in no way interferes with anyone else's pursuits of theirs.
